Owning a home brings a long list of decisions — repairs, upgrades, paperwork, and the day-to-day upkeep in between. Home Syllabus is here to make those decisions easier with educational resources, helpful service information, and coordination support that connects you with independent local providers when the time comes. We are a resource, not a licensed contractor, and we do not perform the work ourselves.
Programs, rebates, and seasonal opportunities change often. We follow along and share what looks relevant for homeowners like you.
Our guides break down services, terminology, and paperwork into simple steps — so you can decide what makes sense for your home.
When you are ready for hands-on work, we can introduce you to independent local service providers. Home Syllabus does not perform the work itself.

Programs
Federal incentives, state rebates, and local grants can be hard to keep track of. Tap any program for a friendly overview of what it is, who tends to qualify, and what to expect next. Home Syllabus shares information and coordinates introductions; the work itself is always performed by independent providers.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, this program supports home energy improvements for income-eligible families. We can point you toward the agency that administers it in your area, share what documents to gather, and explain what to expect from the energy audit step. The work itself is performed by approved independent providers — not by Home Syllabus.

The federal Home Energy Rebates (HOMES and HEEHRA) are rolling out state by state. We share what is currently available, which equipment may qualify, and how rebates can sometimes pair with utility incentives — so you can have a more informed conversation with an independent provider before any work begins.

Several states offer mitigation grants that can also pair with insurance discounts. We help homeowners understand the enrollment windows, what the programs typically require, and the kinds of questions to ask any independent contractor you choose to work with.
